Position Overview
The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is a donor-supported clinical research initiative focused on youth experiencing transitions, particularly those at risk for or in the early stages of severe mental health disorders. Our primary objective is to guide young individuals with significant mental health challenges towards recovery by innovating treatment methods, enhancing early detection strategies, and conducting impactful clinical research.
We are in search of a dedicated full-time, one-year contract Clinical Research Analyst to support our research team. This role involves contributing to a study examining a text messaging intervention aimed at assisting young people as they transition from acute care to outpatient mental health services. The successful candidate will engage in participant recruitment from various clinical settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the coordination of participant recruitment for multiple research studies.
- Participate in various projects as assigned by the Research Operations Manager.
- Support centralized recruitment efforts and assist with scheduling and conducting participant interviews.
- Conduct research participant screening and eligibility assessments.
- Extract and manage data from electronic health records, ensuring accurate data entry and database upkeep.
- Prepare data for presentations and contribute to peer-reviewed research publications.
- Support regulatory submissions and progress reporting.
- Engage in administrative tasks as required, fostering a collaborative and diverse workplace environment.
This position requires flexibility, including potential evening hours to facilitate participant recruitment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in psychology, neuroscience, or health sciences, complemented by a minimum of one year of relevant clinical or research experience with individuals and families facing mental health and addiction challenges. Essential skills include:
- Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to integrate into multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in high-pressure clinical settings is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with a proven ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
- Proficiency in word processing, PowerPoint, and database management software.
- Experience with data management tools and familiarity with statistical analysis are strong assets.
- Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in another language is beneficial.
Note: Vaccination against COVID-19 and other relevant diseases is a requirement for this position unless exempted for medical reasons in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code.
