Job Posting: Classical Violin Instructor

Faculty Position Overview

The Victoria Conservatory of Music is seeking a highly qualified Classical Violin Instructor to join our Strings Department. As a member of our faculty, you will be responsible for teaching Classical Violin students at our Westhills location in Langford, as well as some opportunities at our main Victoria downtown location.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Classical Violin students of all levels and ages
  • Build and maintain a strong teaching studio in Classical Violin
  • Support the recruitment efforts for new Violin students
  • Develop Classical Violin students to support and participate in the Conservatory's ensembles and programs
  • Communicate regularly with the String Department Head and attend faculty meetings

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor of Music / Music Education degree from a recognized postsecondary institution and two years of teaching experience, or combination of relevant commensurate education and experience
  • Demonstrable skills in building, managing, and maintaining a strong teaching studio in Classical Violin
  • Experience teaching all levels and ages
  • Classical performance experience
