Job Summary

The Housekeeper at Phoenix Society is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the facility's suites and common areas. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain building floors, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming
  • Strip, seal, and polish floors as required
  • Empty garbage, recycling, and compost bins
  • Service and clean restrooms
  • Clean and polish furniture, fixtures, and appliances
  • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors
  • Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment
  • Steam-clean and/or shampoo carpets or rugs
  • Make beds and maintain linens
  • Follow procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment
  • Perform other duties as requested

Maintenance Services:

  • Monitor building security and safety
  • Notify managers of maintenance needs
  • Requisition supplies and equipment
  • Maintain and organize cleaning equipment and materials
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 completion
  • 1-3 years of related experience
  • Related post-secondary and WHMIS training is an asset
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Satisfactory completion of a criminal records check
  • Satisfactory completion of Tuberculosis Screening form
  • Satisfactory completion of Employee Immunization Record form
  • First Aid certification with CPR

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Fluent communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in custodial services
  • Ability to perform heavy to light cleaning duties
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
  • Excellent ability to work under pressure
