Your RoleEnglobe is currently seeking a Geotechnical Borehole Drilling Supervisor to oversee operations in the Southwestern Ontario region. Reporting to the Team Leader, your responsibilities will include conducting site investigations and geotechnical drilling to assess soil and rock properties for engineering design and environmental assessments. Specifically, you will:
- Gather and document factual field data according to specifications;
- Identify soil types and characteristics while collecting samples at designated depths;
- Plan borehole locations and arrange necessary locates;
- Manage traffic control measures and develop traffic management plans;
- Oversee subcontracted drilling activities including auger borings, rock coring, and monitoring well installations;
- Determine appropriate drilling methods based on project requirements;
- Maintain accurate boring and coring logs of data and samples;
- Ensure field samples are returned to the laboratory in an organized manner;
- Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and team members;
- Promote and adhere to safe work practices;
- Perform additional duties as required.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant drilling experience;
- Strong communication skills with project managers and clients;
- Physically capable of performing outdoor work in various weather conditions;
- Familiarity with geotechnical borehole field logs and their role in report preparation;
- Experience with inspections and on-site material testing is a plus;
- Willingness to travel and work out of town, including overnight and weekends as necessary;
- OTM Book 7 training is an asset;
- Valid Class G Driver's license with a clean driving record;
- Access to a personal vehicle;
- Knowledge of GINT software is advantageous;
- Demonstrated commitment to occupational health and safety.
