About the Role:
The Government of Saskatchewan is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Director, Extended Benefits and Client Service Unit. As a key member of the Drug Plan and Extended Benefits Branch, Ministry of Health, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies and programs related to extended benefits and client services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Policy Development: Develop and implement policies and programs that support the extended benefits and client services portfolio, ensuring alignment with government priorities and objectives.
- Leadership and Management: Provide strategic leadership and management to a team of policy analysts and client service staff, ensuring effective collaboration and communication across the branch and ministry.
- Program Management: Oversee the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of programs related to extended benefits and client services, including the Supplementary Health Benefits, Family Health benefits, and Saskatchewan Aids to Independent Living.
- Client Services: Lead the Client Services Unit, responsible for processing drug, medical supply, and service claims, assessing coverage for patients, and responding to program enquiries.
Requirements:
- Post-graduate degree in business or public administration, health economics, or a related field.
- Senior-level experience in policy development, leadership, and program management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build partnerships with stakeholders.
- Knowledge of change and project management principles.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a government or public sector environment.
- Knowledge of health care policy and programs.
- Ability to recognize complex risks and issues and develop proactive strategies to address them.
