About the Role

We're seeking a skilled Copy Editor to join our team at theScore, a leading sports media company. As a Copy Editor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and engagingness of our in-house content.

Key Responsibilities
  • Edit and publish posts produced by our team of news editors across various sports leagues, including NBA, NHL, MLB, NFL, NCAA football and basketball, soccer, tennis, golf, and MMA
  • Edit captions for video and third-party content to comply with our house style
  • Provide editorial guidance and constructive feedback to news editors
  • Adhere to theScore's editorial guidelines and policies
  • Other duties as required
About You
  • Extensive sports knowledge, particularly regarding the four major professional sports leagues, as well as NCAA football and basketball, soccer, tennis, golf, and MMA
  • Flexibility with regards to scheduling and an ability to work nights and weekends
  • Great attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with social media
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingsness to take on other projects as they come up
  • Previous experience in sports media preferred but not required
  • Journalism degree preferred
