Position Overview: Senior Parts Engineering Specialist

Role Summary

As a leading provider of specialized equipment and engineering advisory services for the nuclear sector, Westinghouse Electric Company LLC is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission of delivering clean energy solutions.

The Parts division is experiencing rapid growth, and the successful candidate will act as the primary liaison for this segment, managing bids and overseeing project execution. This position offers exposure to a variety of supply opportunities, presenting unique challenges and avenues for professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze customer RFQ/RFP for engineering support requirements
  • Lead the estimation process for engineering needs, securing necessary approvals
  • Provide technical direction to Purchasing regarding specifications and customer technical data
  • Assess material substitutions from a technical standpoint
  • Collaborate closely with the Parts team, including Program Management, Quality Assurance, Purchasing, and Customer Solutions Management
  • Execute smaller engineering scopes following contract award, including Design Activities and Quality Assurance Level selection

Qualifications:

  • Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario (Mechanical Engineering)
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
  • Eligibility for ASME Appendix 23 Certifying Engineer qualification
  • Expertise in pressure retaining systems according to CSA and ASME standards
  • Experience in developing and endorsing design registration packages for pressure retaining systems in nuclear facilities
  • Proficient in conceptual design, design reviews, and engineering change management
  • Familiarity with manufacturing and inspection processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of leading meetings and delivering presentations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for resolving technical issues and providing leadership
  • Experience in customer liaison and vendor oversight

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of codes and standards relevant to nuclear component and system design
  • Proficiency in design software such as Solid Works, Autodesk Inventor, and ANSYS (FEA)
  • Experience with purchasing/supply chain functions and vendor management
