Job Summary

Aramark Canada is seeking a skilled Grill Cook to join the Dalhousie Food Services team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving menu and made-to-order items to residence students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all customers, ensuring a positive dining experience.
  • Prepare and cook made-to-order items on the grill, using a variety of ingredients and cooking techniques.
  • Operate grills, fryers, and ovens to prepare a range of menu items.
  • Prepare cooked fruit, egg-based dishes, and other menu items as required.
  • Process cheese, dairy, and plant-based dairy alternative ingredients, as well as prepare pastas and noodles.
  • Make decisions on selecting, cooking, and finishing poultry dishes, as well as prepare seafood and other menu items.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitized work environment, adhering to Aramark's Policies and Procedures.
  • Assist with culinary auditing, temperature checking of food items, and other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
  • Ability to execute all duties under Food Service Worker Classification.
  • 1-2 years of culinary experience required.
  • Valid WHMIS, Food Safe Advanced Certification, and First Aid Certification considered an asset.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently, supervised and unsupervised.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 35 pounds.
