Job Opportunity Overview

Aecon is seeking a highly skilled Night EHS Advisor to join our team on the SMR-X project. As a key member of our EHS team, you will play a critical role in promoting a healthy and safe culture within our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of tunnel operations safety and environmental management plans and procedures.
  • Train project staff on tunnel safety procedures and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Track and report safety-related statistics, manage Return to Work and Modified duties cases at the field level.
  • Assist in the development of Job Hazard Analyses, High Hazard, Critical Lifting and Handling forms, and audit same in the field.
  • Support Human Performance program activities and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Designation such as CHSO, CRSP, or NSCO.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Health and Safety within the tunnel construction industry.
  • Knowledge and understanding of tunnel and shaft regulations.
  • Knowledge and experience with working with tunnel boring machines (TBM).
  • Relevant post-secondary education or equivalent experience in the Health and Safety field.
  • Strong leadership abilities, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage subcontractor safety performance.
  • Emergency planning and hot work procedures.
  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds and climb ladders, if required.
  • Comfortable with different work locations and job sites.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and be proactive.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adaptable to flexible work schedules when required to meet deadlines.
