We are seeking a skilled Hangar Manager to join our team in Port Alberni, BC.
Key Responsibilities:
The Hangar Manager will be responsible for directing and supporting hangar staff to ensure the hangar is equipped, organized, and ready to receive/execute aircraft visits. This includes:
- Managing materials, tools, and support equipment
- Ensuring documentation and reports are generated and distributed on time
- Conducting inventory checks and ensuring parts are issued accurately
- Working with Supply Chain to meet parts requirements
- Ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures
- Managing technical documentation and maintenance controls
- Ensuring security requirements are met
- Completing aircraft departure procedures
- Identifying and addressing problematic issues with hangar processes
Staff Management:
The Hangar Manager will also be responsible for:
- Participating in the selection process for new hangar support staff
- Reviewing and approving timesheets
- Delegating tasks and providing on-the-job training
- Ensuring mandatory training requirements are met
- Performance management, discipline, and conflict resolution
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5 years' experience in aircraft maintenance/hangar environment
- Prior management/supervisory experience
- Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) license
- Valid Passport and ability to travel
- Valid driver's license
- Knowledge of Transport Canada regulations
- Basic computer knowledge and understanding of aviation-based software
- Ability to operate forklift and equipment pertinent to aviation support
- Knowledge of aircraft towing and fueling
- Experience with aircraft tooling and GSE
