Job Title: Structural Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our team at Construction Specialties, Inc. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for planning, conducting, and reviewing structural design analysis for all exterior aluminum products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proficient with structural design analysis programs; RISA-3D, SAP2000
  • High knowledge of Canadian and US building codes and design manuals
  • High experience working with latest AutoCAD and Microsoft Office packages
  • Excellent problem solving and time management skills
  • Ability to work with multiple projects and flexible to change tasks with short time notice
  • Excellent customer service, communication and leadership skills
  • Coordinate products shop drawings, manufacturing, installation, support, and documentation to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and design requirements
  • Generates AutoCAD details based on conceptual sketches or needs to develop custom design to meet the needs of the customers
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Structural Engineering (MS preferred)
  • Minimum 10 years of structural design analysis with aluminum and steel structures
  • Must be a self-starter, with demonstrated autonomy, able to handle unexpected events and take advantage of opportunities to achieve results to meet and exceed expectations
  • Must perform as a flexible team member and be a proficient leader and developer of technical people
  • Must be able to communicate with employees at all levels in the organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communications
  • Root Cause Analysis
  • Working knowledge of Finite Element Analysis and related software
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks
  • Knowledge of installation, machining and welding techniques
