Your Opportunity:
At Alberta Health Services, we offer a competitive compensation package, including a Northern Allowance of up to $6,300 annually, which is non-pensionable and paid hourly for all hours worked at the standard pay rate. Additionally, employees working at locations above the 57th parallel for more than one year may qualify for an annual reimbursement of personal travel expenses, up to $1,235. This reimbursement covers one round trip per calendar year to any destination within Alberta, originating from a community above the 57th parallel.
Position Overview:
As an Environmental Services Technician II, you will undertake a range of responsibilities related to specialized cleaning operations within healthcare facilities. Your role will involve utilizing industrial cleaning supplies and powered equipment to ensure a safe and sanitary environment. Typical duties include:
- Operating industrial cleaning machinery for floor care.
- Conducting thorough cleaning of ceilings and windows.
- Managing the disposal of hazardous waste materials.
- Providing training and orientation to new Environmental Services staff.
Required Qualifications:
Applicants must have completed Grade 10 or an equivalent level of education. Proficiency in computer operations, including Microsoft Office, is essential. Candidates should be physically capable of standing and walking for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks throughout their shift. The ability to lift, push, and pull weights of up to 30 lbs is also required.
