Job Title: Spiritual Health Practitioner

We are seeking a skilled Spiritual Health Practitioner to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a Spiritual Health Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing spiritual care and support to patients, families, and staff.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for upholding dignity in person-centred care by seeking out, assessing, and responding to the unique spiritual and religious needs of patients, families, and staff in an open, compassionate, and culturally safe manner. You will work as a member of the interprofessional healthcare team to provide spiritual care and support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and respond to the spiritual and religious needs of patients, families, and staff
  • Provide spiritual care and support in a culturally sensitive and compassionate manner
  • Work collaboratively with the interprofessional healthcare team to provide holistic care
  • Develop and maintain relationships with patients, families, and staff to provide ongoing spiritual support
  • Participate in education and training programs to maintain professional competence
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited Canadian university or the approved equivalent
  • Supervised clinical experience in a healthcare environment
  • Active member of a professional organization with a Code of Ethics
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree related to spirituality and health
  • Additional training in Manitoba Indigenous Cultural Safety, WRHA Health Ethics-Equity, Dignity Therapy, Advance Care Planning, Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) conversations, and palliative care
