About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Architect to join our Global Technology Enterprise Platforms (GTEP) - Data Centre Build team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical part in designing, deploying, and supporting various network technologies at an enterprise scale.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deploy network solutions for our global network, including on-premise data centres and cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of network technologies.
  • Provide Level 3 support to our Operations team and participate in rotational on-call duties.
  • Stay up-to-date with leading-edge technologies and contribute to the development of our network roadmap.
  • Work with software-defined data centre technologies like Cisco ACI and VMWare NSX.
  • Contribute to the adoption of cloud-based network solutions, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, and IBM SoftLayer.
Requirements
  • At least 6+ years of progressive hands-on technical working experience in network technologies.
  • Hands-on technical working experience with Cisco Routers & Switches, firewall technologies like Fortigate/Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD), and Cisco Security/VPN.
  • Experience with Infoblox NIOS products, such as DDI - DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management (IPAM).
  • Hands-on technical working experience with software-defined networking (SDN) technologies like Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI), VMware NSX, or similar.
  • Experience with managing Public Cloud (Microsoft Azure & Google Cloud Platform preferred) environments in a network-related capacity.
  • Hands-on technical working experience with Wired and Wireless 802.1x Network Authentication using Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).
  • Hands-on technical working experience with network automation scripting from Python, REST API endpoint.
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, Networking Technology, or a related field.
