Key Responsibilities

As a Design Engineer at Rally Engineering, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality designs and drawings that meet the needs of our clients. Your primary focus will be on equipment engineering design and drafting, working closely with our team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of construction and as-built drawing and document packages.

Junior Design Engineer
  • Work on equipment engineering design and drafting projects under the supervision of senior engineers.
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of technical standards, regulations, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure designs and drawings comply with all relevant codes, standards, and Company/Client specifications.
  • Participate in model reviews and provide technical guidance to personnel of less experience.
Intermediate Design Engineer
  • Take on more complex design and drafting projects, working independently and providing guidance to junior engineers.
  • Prepare detailed drawings and 3D models, ensuring packages are checked per established procedures.
  • Review vendor and other discipline drawings to identify interferences and coordinate designs with Clients and other disciplines.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of industry, regulatory, and environmental requirements to ensure requirements are incorporated into the design.
Senior Design Engineer
  • Lead design and drafting projects, supervising junior and intermediate engineers and providing technical guidance and mentorship.
  • Assign and review work of subordinate design staff, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of construction and as-built drawing and document packages.
  • Make decisions and recommendations on highly technical or complex issues, exercising resourcefulness and ingenuity to resolve technical issues.
Qualifications
  • Years of experience: Junior (0-4 years), Intermediate (5-10 years), and Senior (10+ years).
  • Technical Diploma or Certificate from a recognized technology program; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Registration with applicable provincial governing body.
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation drafting software and 3D design/drafting software such as AutoPlant, Plant 3D, OpenPlant, etc.
