Job Title: Research Scientist - Computational Biology

We are seeking a highly motivated scientist with a track record of excellence for a position in Global R&D, Skin Research & Innovation group, based in Piscataway, NJ.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will design and investigate biological changes in skin, particularly utilizing omics. They will perform comprehensive and detailed analysis from omics related skin data, including RNA-seq, spatial transcriptomics, single cell sequencing (scRNAseq), proteomics, metabolomics and epigenetic datasets. The candidate will utilize design and implementation tools and various applications to support skin health research; apply machine learning models to improve data analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and investigate biological changes in skin, particularly utilizing omics.
2. Perform comprehensive and detailed analysis from omics related skin data.
3. Utilize design and implementation tools and various applications to support skin health research.
4. Apply machine learning models to improve data analysis.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years experience in Bioinformatics or Masters in Biology/Chemistry with 2+ years in Bioinformatics with a skin biology background.
2. Hands-on experience on evaluation of bioinformatics projects.
3. Knowledge of computational models and machine learning.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Ph.D. in Bioinformatics w. 2+ yrs of experience.
2. Hands on experience with human skin cell/tissue culture (keratinocytes, fibroblasts, skin equivalents and explants).
3. Strong problem solving skills, project management and execution skills.
4. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary Range $110,000.00 - $128,000.00 USD. Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.

Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:

• Vacation/PTO: Employees receive a minimum of 15 days of vacation/PTO leave annually.

• Paid Sick Leave: Based on location and consistent with applicable state and local law, employees receive a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave on January 1st of each year.
• Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements).
