Job Summary

The City of Kingston is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Engineering Services department, you will be responsible for leading capital projects that support the development and enhancement of the City's transportation systems.

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong project management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a deep understanding of transportation planning and infrastructure design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage capital projects from feasibility to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Develop and implement project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, including internal departments, external agencies, and the public, to ensure project goals and objectives are met.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, including design and construction teams.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and City policies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, and community groups.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in transportation planning and infrastructure design, with a focus on project management.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation planning and infrastructure design principles, including traffic signal design and operations.
  • Experience with project management software and tools, including MS Project and AutoCAD.
