Role Overview:

As a Home Care Support Specialist, you will implement a personalized care strategy focused on promoting the autonomy of our clients. Your responsibilities will encompass assisting with daily living activities, which may include personal hygiene, grooming, and physical exercise.

The individuals receiving care are primarily seniors wishing to maintain their independence at home, although support may also be provided to younger adults and children. Care is delivered in shifts of two hours or more, and you should be prepared to travel throughout the designated service area, potentially visiting multiple locations during your shifts.

Compensation: $21.93 per hour

Position Details:

  • Opportunity for full-time hours
  • Shifts are a minimum of 2 hours
  • Travel throughout the designated service area is required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing compassionate care to clients in their residences.
  • Assisting with daily living activities (ADLs), including personal hygiene and basic care.
  • Monitoring and reporting any changes in the client's condition to the appropriate personnel.
  • Supporting clients with additional tasks such as meal preparation, laundry, and light housekeeping.
  • Engaging clients in customized activities to enhance their quality of life.
  • Accompanying seniors to appointments or errands (transportation will be arranged).

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a recognized Personal Support Worker program, Health Care Aide Program, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Current Level 1 First Aid and CPR/AED certification.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Experience working with elderly clients or in home care settings is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
  • Excellent communication skills, adaptability, and resilience in a dynamic environment.
  • Capacity to handle sensitive situations with discretion.
  • Must possess a smartphone and a valid G class driver's license with insurance.
  • Availability for a minimum of 10 hours per week.
