As a Water Treatment Facility Operator, your primary responsibility will be the overall management of the onsite Water Treatment infrastructure and sewage lagoon, ensuring that all operations are properly maintained and adhere to regulatory standards.

What is the role?
- Oversee the onsite water treatment infrastructure and sewage lagoon independently, ensuring compliance with local and provincial regulations.
- Perform standard onsite sampling and field assessments of operational parameters.
- Document detailed daily operational data and laboratory results in daily reports.
- Compile data for monthly and annual reporting as per established protocols.
- Possess the ability and willingness to conduct minor repairs within the treatment systems; collaborate effectively with management and onsite maintenance teams for significant repairs.
- Execute preventive maintenance as outlined in the Preventative Maintenance Program. Maintain and manage critical spare parts inventory.
- Oversee daily management of onsite consumables, including ordering as necessary.
- Assist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for various operational requirements.
- Comply with all company and client safety regulations.
- Engage in the review, updating, and implementation of Emergency Response Plans (ERPs), Operations Plans, and Drinking Water Safety Plans as needed.
- Participate in onsite training exercises in accordance with ERPs.
- Maintain and track assigned company tools.
- Ensure proper maintenance of company vehicles and submit timely inspection reports.
- Support the training and mentoring of Operators in Training.
Does this sound like you?
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in Water and Wastewater Treatment.
- Certified Level I Water Treatment; additional certifications are considered an asset. Certified Wastewater Treatment is also an asset.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong process monitoring and control skills.
- Proficient in field testing and laboratory testing.
- Ability to thoroughly understand Regulatory Approvals and directives.
- Excellent mechanical and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and internal operational teams.
- Competent understanding of Company/Client procedures.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and respond efficiently to changing priorities.
- Computer proficiency in Windows, Microsoft 365, and email applications.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines.
