The Pharmacy Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the Pharmacist in the technical aspects of prescription filling and administrative duties. This position requires a team player who can provide exceptional customer service and participate in all aspects of Pharmacy Operations.
Key Responsibilities- Prescription Processing: Receive prescriptions from patients, assess for completeness, and prioritize according to 21st Century Guidelines.
- Computer Functions: Perform data entry, price checks, patient information updates, and competent interpretation and processing of written prescriptions.
- Prescription Filling: Fill prescriptions under the Pharmacist's supervision, select appropriate products, perform accuracy checks, and label and organize for pharmacist checking.
- Inventory Control: Maintain inventory levels, check for expired medications, and perform cleaning and organization tasks.
- Clerical Organization: File prescriptions, invoices, reports, and correspondence, and complete administrative support functions.
- OTC Operations: Assist with ordering, stocking, and cashier duties as assigned by the OTC Manager and/or Pharmacist.

The Pharmacy Assistant will work in a fast-paced retail environment, providing exceptional customer service and supporting the Pharmacist in the delivery of superior customer service.
