We are seeking a seasoned Mechanical Construction Supervisor for a full-time, permanent role. The Supervisor will oversee the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of specific projects, ensuring alignment with company strategy, commitments, and objectives. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain safety on site at all times, complying with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and COR Requirements. Lead the coordination of all site health and safety protocols, including job site inspections, safety discussions, PPE requirements, health and safety plans, FLRA, site orientation, MOL inspections, and incident protocols.
- Engage in the complete construction process, ensuring follow-through on projects from start to finish.
- Deliver projects in accordance with contractual obligations.
- Develop, execute, and manage work plans for assigned projects within the mechanical division, adjusting as necessary to meet evolving needs and requirements.
- Organize and supervise site personnel, trades, and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with performance expectations.
- Review construction plans for adherence to all relevant codes, regulations, and ordinances, including plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and HVAC standards.
- Ensure timely project progression and strategically plan tasks to meet deadlines and milestones.
- Secure all necessary permits and licenses to facilitate project continuation.
- Continuously monitor and report on project progress to all stakeholders.
- Uphold quality standards for work and materials.
- Manage workforce hours effectively.
- Oversee assigned projects to ensure compliance with specifications, local codes, and installation practices.
- Ensure subcontractors are informed of project expectations prior to commencement.
- Communicate safe work procedures and ensure subcontractors adhere to all company safety policies and protocols.
- Ensure submission of testing, start-up, and field-level reports.
- Relevant diploma, degree, or trade license (Millwright, Plumbing, Sheet Metal, Gas Fitter, etc.), or Mechanical Engineering background.
- PMP designation or related courses in construction project management are advantageous.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical construction project coordination/management, including contracts, costing, planning, and scheduling.
- Trade experience (Steamfitter, Gasfitter, Welder, Plumber) is beneficial.
- Valid Ontario Driver's License (G License) is mandatory.
- Extensive knowledge of applicable union contracts.
- Significant experience with provincial health and safety regulations, construction safety best practices, and legislation. Experience with COR is highly preferred.
- Proven track record of successfully completing projects on time, within budget, and to specifications.
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Project, and Word). Familiarity with Accubid is a plus.
- Understanding of various standard forms of contracts.
- Knowledge of construction processes (RFI, RFQ, Change Orders, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret construction/engineering drawings and schematics.
- A positive attitude, proactive and diplomatic leadership skills, and a high level of professionalism, accountability, and integrity.
- Capable of multitasking and problem-solving in a high-pressure environment.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with a strong sense of pride in work.
- Valid G class driver's license with a clean driving record and willingness to travel to work sites.
- Availability to travel to job sites as necessary (generally within the Golden Horseshoe but may include projects in other areas of Ontario).
