About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team at North Lake Enterprises LTD. As a key member of our estimating department, you will play a crucial role in preparing accurate and detailed estimates for our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimate Preparation: Prepare comprehensive estimates of labour and material costs, including master format estimates (Class A), general expenses, and overheads.
  • Economic Feasibility Studies: Conduct economic feasibility studies and provide preliminary estimates for proposed projects, including project cash flow and financing requirements.
  • Estimate Reporting: Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bid forms, utilizing quantity take-off procedures.
  • Tender Analysis: Analyze tenders and recommend awards, advising on tendering procedures and contract expenditures.
  • Cost Monitoring: Set up and monitor cost monitoring and reporting systems, ensuring accurate tracking of contract expenditures.
  • Supply and Contractor Management: Maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors, liaising with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications, ensuring accurate understanding of project requirements.
Requirements
  • Education: College or CEGEP diploma.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in construction estimating, or equivalent experience.
  • Language: English language proficiency.
  • Work Hours: 35 to 40 hours per week.
