About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Meat Cutter and Processor to join our team at Anne Street Variety. As a key member of our grocery store team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of meat products for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cutting and Processing Meat: Clean and prepare meats for processing or cutting, cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat, and wrap and package prepared meats.
  • Meat Handling and Preparation: Remove bones from meat, weigh meats for sale, grind meats, and prepare special displays of meats, poultry, and fish products.
  • Slaughter and Processing: Slaughter livestock and remove viscera and other inedible parts from carcasses, remove feathers and singe and wash poultry to prepare for further processing or packaging.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, answer questions about meat products, and assist customers with special orders.
  • Work Environment: Work in a fast-paced grocery store environment, standing for extended periods, handling heavy loads, and working in a cold/refrigerated environment.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: Will train.
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding, standing for extended periods, handling heavy loads, and manual dexterity.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 30 to 35 hours per week.
