The Commonwealth of Virginia is in search of a qualified law enforcement officer to become a vital part of the Campus Safety and Security team. This role is essential in fostering a secure and supportive atmosphere for the educational community while enhancing positive interactions with students, staff, and guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Uphold state regulations and institutional guidelines
  • Conduct regular surveillance across the campus
  • Deliver emergency medical assistance when necessary
  • Engage in community-oriented policing efforts
  • Develop and execute innovative safety initiatives

Essential Qualifications

  • Completion of high school education or equivalent
  • Certification in law enforcement as per Virginia standards
  • Must be a citizen of the United States
  • Minimum age requirement of 21 years
  • Possession of a valid Virginia driver's license
  • No felony or significant misdemeanor convictions
  • Successful completion of all stages of the police officer selection process

Preferred Attributes

  • Prior experience in law enforcement is advantageous
  • Completion of FEMA/NIMS training courses
  • Current certification in First Aid and CPR
