Role Summary:
The Finance Director will report directly to the Portfolio CEO and will work closely with the CFO at the corporate headquarters. This pivotal role requires a blend of hands-on management and strategic oversight of daily financial operations, coupled with a strong understanding of business dynamics to support the various business units within the portfolio. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with all financial regulations and maintain the integrity of financial reporting while collaborating with business leaders and portfolio managers.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Oversight and Reporting:
- Manage comprehensive financial transactions, including invoicing, accounts payable, cash management, and credit oversight.
- Analyze and report financial outcomes, ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions for monthly management accounts and balance sheet statements.
- Collaborate with business leaders to support and challenge financial plans and forecasts during the quarterly review process.
- Supervise Financial Analysts to deliver timely and accurate management reports.
- Certify quarterly financial statements and compliance checklists with the Portfolio CEO for submission to corporate headquarters.
- Coordinate with corporate headquarters to fulfill routine and ad-hoc reporting requirements.
Business Analysis and Performance Monitoring:
- Identify and analyze variances against established plans and benchmarks, providing insights and exploring solutions with department heads.
- Lead revenue analysis, profit and loss monitoring, and forecasting, reviewing business performance against expectations and assisting senior management with strategic planning.
Operational Finance Enhancement:
- Promote improvements in working capital management across the organization.
- Develop and implement processes to enhance business efficiency through automation.
- Assess operational systems and staffing levels, addressing inefficiencies and recommending policies for organizational effectiveness.
Support for Acquisition Initiatives:
- Assist in preparing Purchase Price Accounting for new acquisitions.
- Lead the financial integration of new acquisitions and support the achievement of investment goals.
- Provide assistance in valuation, planning, and negotiation as necessary.
Tax Compliance and Strategy:
- Prepare and review quarterly tax computations and provisions.
- Oversee tax compliance and reporting functions for the portfolio.
Team Leadership:
- Mentor and develop team members through regular feedback and performance reviews.
- Foster an environment of ethical practices and professional integrity.
Qualifications:
- CPA qualification is required.
- Strong financial analysis and commercial acumen.
- Proven leadership and people management skills.
- Project management experience.
- Proficiency in Excel modeling and data analysis.
- Knowledge of IFRS in a complex environment is advantageous.
- Experience in the software or technology sector is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience at a Senior Manager or Director level in finance.
- Ability to lead a diverse team in achieving complex objectives.
- Familiarity with Mergers & Acquisitions is desirable.
- Strong understanding of contractual terms and commercial risk assessment.
- High proficiency in accounting and management software.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
