Financial Leadership Opportunity

Friends is seeking a seasoned Director of Accounting and Finance to oversee all financial operations and drive business growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with experience in managing financial transactions, reporting, and planning initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, time tracking, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Oversee bookkeeping functions, ensuring quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
  • Establish and monitor guidelines around cost accounting, pricing, revenue recognition, and job profitability.
  • Interact with other managers to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations.
  • Evaluate and develop business protocols to increase process efficiencies, maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Manage banking, debtor, and significant vendor relationships.
  • Coordinate with fractional CFO, legal counsel, accounting, tax, and other outsourced resources.
  • Manage and comply with government reporting requirements, HST, and corporate tax filings.
  • Ad hoc projects as they arise.

Requirements:
  • Advanced degree in Accounting.
  • Proven working experience as a Financial Controller or Director of Finance in the marketing, advertising, print media, or manufacturing sectors.
  • 6+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and QuickBooks accounting software.
