Join our team at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier hotel in Ottawa, where we are looking for a Doorperson/Valet to provide exceptional service to our guests.

As a Doorperson/Valet, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing a warm welcome and ensuring their vehicles are parked safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing parking assistance to guests upon arrival and departure
  • Greeting guests and promoting valet parking as the only hotel-related parking option
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction by offering the highest caliber of service to guests
  • Ensuring all vehicle keys are clearly identified and stored in a locked location
  • Providing guests with detailed parking fees and clear explanations of valet benefits
  • Ensuring all entrance areas are free and clear from congestion for arrivals and departures of vehicles
  • Completing thorough walk-arounds of guest vehicles prior to entering the garage and highlighting any damage on corresponding valet parking tickets
  • Providing guests with information and answers to questions about hotel facilities, meeting functions, dining facilities, local transportation alternatives, and tourist attractions
  • Providing the removal of items from stored vehicles if required, and other miscellaneous services requested by guests or supervisors in a timely manner
  • Assisting in fire alarms by fulfilling duties as outlined in the hotel fire response manual
  • Assisting in ensuring guest and co-worker safety and security by reporting any suspicious or unusual behavior or occurrence to the appropriate supervisor on duty and informing security
  • Strict adherence to Fairmont Service Standard Expectations as it relates to valet parking
  • In the course of normal duties, observing, reporting, or taking immediate corrective action on deficiencies, malfunctions, and untidiness
  • Able to operate all types of vehicles (manual and regular transmission)
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Available to work weekends, evenings, and shift work
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Team-oriented
  • Customer service-focused
  • Professional manner and outgoing personality
  • Valid Driver's License with no infractions
  • Good command of the English language

Physical Aspects of Position:

  • Frequent standing and walking throughout shift
  • Physical ability to operate a vehicle (foot pedals, gear shift, steering wheel, etc.)
