Position Overview:

As a pivotal member of the Engineering Services team, the Green Infrastructure Project Coordinator plays a crucial role in advancing the City of Vancouver's commitment to sustainability and urban resilience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage capital construction initiatives focused on green infrastructure.
  • Assist in the planning, design, and maintenance of sustainable urban projects.
  • Coordinate construction activities, ensuring alignment with the City’s standards and operational requirements.
  • Conduct technical design reviews, ensuring compliance with established design criteria.
  • Interpret engineering plans and oversee the documentation of field observations.
  • Lead pre-construction and construction planning, including the development of comprehensive construction packages.
  • Monitor project scope, budget, and timeline, ensuring effective lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate with City Operations and Inspection teams to facilitate efficient construction methods.
  • Maintain project documentation, including risk registers and stakeholder communication plans.
  • Engage with consultants, contractors, and regulatory representatives throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders regarding project status and progress.
  • Manage project finances, including Change Orders and invoicing processes.
  • Conduct project closeout activities, ensuring thorough documentation and compliance.
Qualifications:

Candidates should possess a diploma or certificate in Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or a related field, complemented by relevant practical experience in municipal engineering or construction management.

Strong knowledge of civil and landscape construction techniques, project management processes, and procurement practices is essential. The ability to interpret technical drawings and supervise contractor activities is also required.

Proficiency in software applications such as MS Office, AutoCAD, and project management tools is necessary. A commitment to safety and the ability to work in varying weather conditions are also important.
