LAPRAIRIE Group of Companies, a well-established and family-owned organization, is seeking a full-time Journeyman Picker Truck Operator to contribute to its operations.

With a rich history dating back to 1982, LAPRAIRIE has evolved from a small two-man operation into a prominent entity employing over 600 individuals. The company provides comprehensive services across various sectors, including mobile crane operations, heavy hauling, and oilfield logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a 45-ton Swing Cab Picker Truck to lift and transport materials as required.
  • Select appropriate equipment and rigging for each task, consulting with supervisors as necessary.
  • Perform pre-operational inspections on equipment and rigging, ensuring all certifications are current.
  • Follow daily schedules established by Dispatch, with flexibility for shift work, including potential day or night shifts.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in various Picker Truck operations, including customer-specific site work and oilfield hauling.
  • Engage in safety management practices, including conducting risk assessments and inspections.
  • Assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures and Job Safety Analysis.
  • Complete all required training courses as mandated by LAPRAIRIE and clients.
  • Accurately manage paperwork, including timesheets and field tickets.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a Journeyman Picker Truck Ticket and Mobile Crane Operator Certificate; Registered Apprentices with relevant experience will be considered.
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License.
  • Acceptable Commercial Driver's Abstract (5 years).
  • Demonstrated experience in the industry.
  • Willingness to work rotational shifts, including both day and night schedules.
  • Competence in operating a 45-ton swing cab Picker Truck.
  • Experience with Picker Trucks, Winch Trucks, and Bed Trucks is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with OHS hand signals for equipment spotting.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Proficiency in completing daily paperwork using a tablet for submission to Dispatch.
  • Adept at navigating work sites and adapting to changing work conditions.
