With a legacy dating back to 1982, LAPRAIRIE has evolved from a modest one-crane operation into a robust organization with over 600 dedicated employees. We provide comprehensive services across various sectors, including mobile crane operations, heavy hauling, and bridge maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a 45-ton Swing Cab Picker Truck to lift and transport customer materials as required.
  • Select appropriate equipment and rigging for each task, consulting with the Supervisor when necessary.
  • Perform pre-operational inspections on equipment and rigging, ensuring all certifications are up to date.
  • Follow daily schedules established by Dispatch, with potential for shift work on customer sites, including day and night shifts.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in various Picker Truck operations, including site-specific work and oilfield hauling.
  • Engage in Safety Management practices, including conducting Field Level Risk Assessments and completing necessary inspections.
  • Contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures and Job Safety Analysis.
  • Complete required training courses as mandated by LAPRAIRIE and clients.
  • Accurately manage all necessary documentation, including timesheets and field tickets.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a Journeyman Picker Truck Ticket and Mobile Crane Operator Certificate; Registered Apprentices with relevant experience and a Commercial Driver's License will be considered.
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License.
  • Acceptable Commercial Driver's Abstract (5 years).
  • Relevant industry experience.
  • Willingness to work rotational shifts, including both day and night schedules.
  • Competency in operating a 45-ton swing cab Picker Truck.
  • Experience with Picker Trucks, Winch Trucks, and Bed Trucks is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with OHS hand signals for mobile equipment operation.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative team-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency in completing daily paperwork using a tablet and submitting it to Dispatch.
  • Capability to navigate work sites and adapt to changing work scopes.
