Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Produce Buyer to join our team at Big Brothers Food. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining contact with suppliers, negotiating prices, and ensuring adequate stock levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain contact with suppliers to negotiate prices and credit terms.
  • Maintain adequate stock levels to meet the requirements of our establishment.
  • Negotiate prices, discounts, and transportation arrangements with suppliers.
  • Review requirements and determine the quantity and type of merchandise to purchase.
  • Select and purchase merchandise for resale.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Urban area work setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Accurate, client-focused, and efficient interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility, initiative, and judgement.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Permanent work term and 30 hours per week.
  • English language proficiency.
