Senior Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at CB Canada. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for providing financial reporting and analysis to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile and revalue bank accounts for all entities
  • Record and reconcile inter-company and related-party transactions
  • Perform various reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reporting
  • Research and analyze transactions to ensure accuracy and reliability of financial reporting
  • Assist with month-end closings and complete month-end tasks as assigned
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements and assist with note disclosures and supporting documents
  • Perform financial reporting variance analysis
  • Participate in the implementation of process improvements and development of value-added reports
  • Liaise with external auditors and assist with quarterly and YE audits
  • Provide financial information to both external and internal users
  • Assist with budget planning
  • Assist with tax filings
  • Maintain financial security by following internal accounting controls
  • Maintain financial historical records by filing accounting documents
  • Assist with transfer pricing modeling, posting, and reconciliations
  • Assist with cost tracking and allocation
  • Assist with inventory count and inventory adjustments
  • Assist with government and industry compliance and regulatory reporting

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including knowledge of GAAP
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports
  • Analytical skills and extreme attention to detail
  • Time management and priority management skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Self-starter requiring limited supervision and a desire to work in a team environment
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite programs and an advanced Excel user
  • Experience with ERP systems and database systems is highly preferred
