Job Summary

The District School Board of Niagara is seeking a qualified Elementary Occasional Teacher to join our team. As an Occasional Teacher, you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of schools throughout the Niagara region, gaining valuable teaching experience and supporting the needs of students across the system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide instruction and support to students in elementary education
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other education professionals to meet the needs of students
  • Develop and implement lesson plans and educational programs
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Communicate with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress
Requirements
  • Good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers
  • Conditions of Employment: Maintain good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers; Upon hire, provide a Criminal Background Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (dated within six months); Agreement to comply with the Board's policies, procedures and code of conduct; Successful completion of a probationary period in accordance with the Collective Agreement; Work a minimum of fifteen (15) teaching days in an academic school year; Complete an annual offence declaration process.

  • Primary, Junior and/or Intermediate Qualifications
