Telesat is seeking a talented System Verification Engineering Specialist to join our dynamic team focused on developing and launching the next generation of satellite communication technology, the Lightspeed constellation.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the success of the Lightspeed Network by contributing to the development and execution of comprehensive system verification and validation plans. You will collaborate closely with various engineering teams throughout the entire lifecycle of the project, from pre-launch preparation to post-launch satellite and system-level verification activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement robust system and subsystem verification plans, processes, and procedures in collaboration with segment teams.
  • Contribute to the definition of test philosophies, including Satellite In-Orbit Testing (IOT) and Constellation System Acceptance Test phases.
  • Maintain comprehensive system verification matrices aligned with Lightspeed system requirements.
  • Support and coordinate hardware and software verification processes across different engineering teams.
  • Assist in the integration of hardware and software components, ensuring seamless communication between segments.
  • Develop software tools, libraries, and frameworks to enhance product quality and efficiency.
  • Participate actively in design reviews (PDR, CDR, TRR & TRBs), providing valuable feedback on equipment and code quality.
  • Collaborate with segment teams to troubleshoot and resolve software or hardware defects during system verification tests.
  • Contribute to the development of industry-leading embedded SW test methodologies.
  • Maintain meticulous configuration control data for all verification test activities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of system engineering verification concepts and protocols.
  • Experience in hardware or software development, testing, and verification methods, particularly within complex aerospace/space or telecommunication network systems.
  • Familiarity with configuration control processes related to quality control and verification procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills (both written and verbal).
