Position Overview:

The Plant Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the facility, working collaboratively within the team in the SAGD environment. This role necessitates a trained and skilled individual capable of managing one or more areas of the processing facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimize performance by maintaining and troubleshooting all area-specific equipment to meet production targets according to facility guidelines.
  • Conduct condition monitoring, including sampling and testing as per area responsibilities, documenting results and taking necessary actions.
  • Perform operational rounds and maintain electronic logs of actions taken during shifts.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and on-the-job training to new team members as required.
  • Assist in the maintenance schedule by preparing equipment for planned work using Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Engage in walkarounds, participate in informal LOTO and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) audits, and complete housekeeping tasks while documenting and addressing corrective actions.
  • Conduct handover meetings with incoming and outgoing Plant Operators.

Candidate Profile:

  • A minimum of 5 years of operational experience is required, with relevant industry experience considered an asset.
  • A Third Class Certificate is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including the Microsoft Office suite, is essential.

We recognize the value of transferable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education for candidates who do not meet specific requirements.

This position is classified as safety-sensitive, and employment will be contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.

Candidates must maintain a valid Class 5 driver's license and a satisfactory driving record, adhering to company policies and guidelines.
