As the Manager of an Animal Centre, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of animal care and welfare, while also providing exceptional leadership and guidance to your team.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement effective animal care and welfare programs, ensuring compliance with BC SPCA policies and procedures.
- Lead and manage a team of staff and volunteers, providing coaching, mentorship, and performance management to ensure the delivery of exceptional animal care and welfare services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including local communities, veterinarians, and other animal welfare organizations.
- Develop and manage budgets, ensuring effective financial management and resource allocation.
- Represent the BC SPCA in a professional and knowledgeable manner, providing expert advice and guidance on animal welfare and community engagement.
- Post-secondary education in an applicable field, plus related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable to the employer.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Proven experience in animal welfare and community engagement, with a strong understanding of the Five Freedoms and related animal welfare standards.
- Valid Class N or 5 BC Drivers' License and driver's abstract.
