Summary
The role of the Natural Gas Equipment Technician is to deliver exceptional support and service to our esteemed clientele. This encompasses, but is not limited to, the management and operation of a service vehicle for daily maintenance tasks, executing overhauls of natural gas compressors within the energy sector, and conducting commissioning services for Enerflex's natural gas processing facilities to ensure safe, efficient, and trouble-free operations. Key Responsibilities
- Engage primarily with medium to large stationary natural gas machinery in refrigeration and processing facilities, including but not limited to compressors (both reciprocating and screw), pumps, valves, coolers, control panels, generator packages, and associated equipment.
- Diagnose operational issues in industrial and dew point applications and formulate solutions through effective troubleshooting.
- Conduct mechanical inspections utilizing micrometers, pressure gauges, electronic diagnostic tools, and other specialized instruments independently.
- Participate in on-site commissioning activities related to Enerflex's gas processing and compression systems.
- Travel to client locations as necessary to service their equipment.
- Provide telephonic support to clients or on-site technicians as needed.
- Adhere to and promote safety principles.
- Foster and maintain positive professional relationships with current and prospective clients.
- Willingness to travel inter-provincially on short notice for extended periods.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and supervise team members effectively.
- Possess a valid class 5 driver's license and be prepared to drive long distances.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of engine and compressor performance and operations; experience in power generation is preferred; familiarity with Waukesha, Jenbacher, MAN, CAT, and Ariel is considered an asset.
Qualifications
- Self-driven team player with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment health assessment, including drug and alcohol testing.
- Provide a clean driver’s abstract upon hiring.
- Possess a valid Journeyman Refrigeration Certificate or be a fourth-year Refrigeration apprentice with relevant experience.
- Experience in natural gas processing and commissioning.
- Knowledge of rotary screw and reciprocating compressors is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Hydrocarbon Dew Point plants, amine plants, and stabilizer packages.
- Understanding of installation, assembly, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair procedures related to natural gas refrigeration and processing systems and equipment.
- Safety training, including but not limited to Fall Arrest and Confined Space; additional certifications are beneficial.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
- Basic understanding of instrumented control systems.
- Customer service experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, enabling professional interaction with clients, vendors, management, and colleagues.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
