Position: Customer Solutions Crop Science Lead

This role is designed to achieve the following objectives:

  • Establish Bayer as the preferred partner for our customers' agricultural needs.
  • Empower team members to manage their local operations effectively for the benefit of both customers and Bayer.
  • Enhance local business prospects and customer satisfaction by collaborating with farmers and business partners to create shared short, mid, and long-term goals.

This is a permanent position that allows for remote work, with travel requirements to support the Southern Saskatchewan region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaboratively manage and achieve profit and loss targets with the squad.
  • Strategically plan and execute initiatives in short (90-day), mid, and long-term cycles.
  • Continuously adapt and prioritize tasks to ensure progress towards team objectives.
  • Work together within the squad to clarify roles and responsibilities, enhancing customer focus.
  • Utilize digital tools and agronomic knowledge to support and promote the complete Bayer product range, leveraging market intelligence and data insights to identify and prioritize opportunities.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment through self-management practices, including peer recruitment and performance feedback.
  • Promote a culture of professionalism and safety, ensuring compliance with safety regulations within the team.
  • Build strong relationships with key growers and potential customers to increase market share and enhance customer experience.
  • With a comprehensive understanding of the product portfolio, collaborate to drive sales and provide exceptional support services.
  • Work with the squad to prioritize the allocation of discretionary funds to maximize program impact.
  • Develop targeted strategies to boost sales across the entire Bayer portfolio, including seed treatment initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or a related field, with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of local crop production, agronomy, and Bayer's product offerings in seed, crop protection, and digital solutions.
  • Adaptable mindset with the ability to respond to evolving business needs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including presentation, writing, verbal, and listening abilities, to achieve optimal results with customers and internal teams.
  • Ability to identify key customer needs and develop customized solutions.
  • Experience in utilizing digital tools for data management and analysis.
  • Proficient problem-solving skills with analytical thinking in complex scenarios with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver's license and safe vehicle operation skills.
  • Capability to effectively mentor and supervise summer interns.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Professional designations such as CCA, CCSC, PAg (RTAg), or OAQ.
  • Advanced proficiency in computer applications and databases, including MS Office Suite and other relevant software (CRM, Tableau).
