Job Summary

Altum Health, a department within the University Health Network, is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. As an integral member of our multi-professional team, you will provide assessment and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders for adult patients with Acquired Brain Injury, including Mild Traumatic Brain Injury.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and cognitive-communication assessments and interventions for patients with ABI, including mTBI
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address communication and swallowing disorders
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide education and consultation on communication and swallowing disorders
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices in speech-language pathology
  • Provide coverage across other clinical service areas as needed

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent
  • Registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO)
  • Ontario Association of Speech-Language Pathologist and Audiologists (OSLA) membership preferred
  • 2 years of experience in speech-language pathology, preferably in a hospital or rehabilitation setting
  • Previous experience with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and Mild Traumatic Brain Injury (mTBI) is required
