Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Plant Maintenance Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our industrial equipment, including HVAC systems, and will play a key role in maintaining our high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular maintenance inspections and repairs to ensure equipment is operating efficiently and safely
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals to troubleshoot and repair complex systems
  • Assemble, dismantle, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment
  • Use precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices to diagnose and repair equipment
  • Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery
  • Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems
  • Evaluate information to determine compliance with standards using relevant information and individual judgment
  • Servicing, repairing, calibrating, regulating, fine-tuning, or testing machines, devices, and equipment that operate primarily based on electrical or electronic principles
  • Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial equipment maintenance or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical and electronic principles, and mechanical systems
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and troubleshoot problems with electrical, refrigerant, and duct systems
  • Certificates, licenses, or training in Forklift License, Overhead Crane, WHMIS, Emergency Procedures and Evacuation, PPE an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and against strict time constraints
