Job Title: Telecommunications Technician

GQ Technology Trading Inc. is seeking a skilled Telecommunications Technician to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to install, maintain, and repair telecommunications equipment and systems. The successful candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and possess strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and locate equipment faults, and adjust, replace or repair telecommunications equipment
  • Inspect operation of telecommunications equipment
  • Install, arrange, remove and maintain telephone equipment, wiring and associated hardware
  • Repair or replace defective telephone equipment
  • Test installed telephone systems to locate transmission faults
  • Analyze test results and adjust, change or repair switching system, network, associated equipment and software
  • Complete and maintain test and service reports
  • Determine nature, cause and location of trouble
  • Initiate the dispatch of appropriate repair personnel
  • Connect, disconnect and relocate cable outlets
  • Repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers and amplifiers
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in telecommunications
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of telephone system, trunking system, computerized testing system, and telecommunication system
  • Experience with amplifiers, converters, and splitters
  • Knowledge of area of specialization, including telephone installation and repair, switch network installation and repair, telecommunication service testing, and telecommunications equipment
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and will be required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
