Job Title: Telecommunications Equipment Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Equipment Specialist to join our team at AP-LINX IT SOLUTIONS INC.

Job Summary:

The Telecommunications Equipment Specialist will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications equipment, including cable signals, telephone systems, and network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in telecommunications, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and test cable signals and associated equipment
  • Repair cable signals and diagnose equipment faults
  • Install, arrange, remove, and maintain telephone equipment, wiring, and associated hardware
  • Test installed telephone systems to locate transmission faults
  • Analyze test results and adjust, change, or repair switching systems, networks, associated equipment, and software
  • Complete and maintain test and service reports
  • Determine the nature, cause, and location of trouble
  • Operate computerized testing systems to conduct service tests on customer lines and equipment
  • Connect, disconnect, and relocate cable outlets
  • Determine work assignments
  • Install cable modems and software to enable Internet access
  • Maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems
  • Repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers, and amplifiers
Requirements:
  • College/CEGEP education
  • 1-2 years of experience in telecommunications
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Work Environment:

The Telecommunications Equipment Specialist will work in a variety of environments, including outdoors and at heights. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
