Job Title: Registered Nurse - On-Call Sexual Assault Service

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our On-Call Sexual Assault Service team at BC Women's Hospital & Health Centre. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide nursing care and support to survivors of sexual assault, working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and provide emotional and physical support to clients
  • Collect and explain options for treatment
  • Provide crisis counseling and client support
  • Assist physicians with medical examinations and collect forensic evidence
  • Document patient information and maintain records for court evidence
  • Participate in health education and community outreach
  • Collaborate with other team members to provide comprehensive patient care

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing
  • Current practicing registration as an RN with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives
  • Minimum three years of clinical experience in related areas, such as gynecology, obstetrics, or emergency nursing
  • Interest and commitment to caring for survivors of sexual assault
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
