Position Overview

As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents at POINTS WEST LIVING STETLER INC. Your responsibilities will include providing compassionate support and assistance to individuals in a variety of settings.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a non-university certificate or diploma program lasting between 1 to 2 years.
  • Experience: A minimum of 7 months to less than 1 year in a similar role.
Work Environment
  • Primarily in a rural setting.
  • Involves working in a nursing home or assisted living facility.
Key Responsibilities
  • Accompany residents during outdoor activities to promote engagement and well-being.
  • Assist with various tasks related to patient comfort and care.
  • Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Manage bedpans and assist with mobility needs.
  • Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
  • Serve meals and assist residents with eating as needed.
  • Support residents in their exercise routines.
  • Deliver messages and specimens between departments as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in residents' living spaces.
  • Respond promptly to residents' needs through call signals.
  • Collect specimens for medical testing.
Certifications
  • Nursing Aide Certificate.
  • Health Care Aide Certificate.
