About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team at Northern Cultural Expressions Society. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Accounting and Auditing: Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and perform regular audits to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Payroll and Benefits Administration: Process payroll and benefits for employees, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Tax Compliance: Prepare and submit tax returns, and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement, and provide recommendations to management.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or a related field.
  • Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel, QuickBooks, and MS Office.
  • Language: English.
