Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the DBA team to design, implement, and maintain mainframe databases, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
  • Develop and implement DevOps tools and processes to improve database administration efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Design and implement monitoring and logging solutions using tools such as Splunk to ensure database integrity and recoverability.
  • Provide technical support to developers and other stakeholders on mainframe database-related topics.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest mainframe database features and technologies, and make recommendations for their adoption.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Extensive experience with mainframe databases (IMS/DB2) and applications.
  • Strong understanding of mainframe tools, including JCL, RACF, Broadcom, and IBM database admin tools.
  • Experience with mainframe modernization concepts and directions.
  • Hands-on experience with Ansible, Jenkins, and other DevOps tools.
  • Working knowledge of Zowe components and integration with other mainframe products.
  • Experience with performance management dashboarding solutions, including Grafana and Broadcom APM.
  • Hands-on experience with analytics platforms such as Splunk and IBM Db2 Analytics Accelerator.
