Mainframe Developer Job Description

Nexus Systems Group Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Developer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop, test, and maintain application programs and interfaces on the mainframe platform.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
  3. Develop and implement technical documentation for system software applications.
  4. Monitor system performance, plan and execute disaster recovery procedures, and provide technical support.
  5. Evaluate user requests for new or modified computer programs to determine feasibility, cost, and compatibility.

Candidate Requirements:

  1. 5+ years of experience as a Senior Mainframe Developer.
  2. 1+ years of experience as a Tech Lead.
  3. 5+ years of experience with Cobol programming language.
  4. 5+ years of experience with JCL.
  5. 3+ years of experience with DB2 database management system.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  1. Experience with Endevor, CA7, and File Manager.
  2. Experience in the banking industry.

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proactive mindset.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
