We are seeking a highly skilled Policy Analyst, Population and Public Health Initiatives to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our Population and Public Health team, you will play a critical role in promoting and protecting the health and well-being of the people of the Fraser Health region.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate the development and implementation of assigned projects and initiatives, ensuring successful and coordinated completion of project components.
- Prepare population and public health-related reports and documentation, including problem descriptions, analyses, alternative solutions, and recommendations.
- Develop strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including planning and developing engagement sessions and facilitating dialogue to promote a collaborative relationship.
- Plan and conduct population and public health-related research assessments and reviews, compiling and analyzing data to inform policy and program development.
- Develop project and policy models, and contribute to evaluation work, ensuring effective processes and risk mitigation strategies.
- Seek out and write research and funding grants for identified population and public health projects.
- Develop evidence-based education programs and awareness campaigns to inform and effect behavioral changes, evaluating effectiveness and developing related materials.
- Prepare communication materials, including briefing notes, agendas, and project management documents, and attend project team and other relevant meetings.
We are looking for a candidate with a Master's degree in Public Health, Health Science, or a health-related discipline, and five years of recent, related public health and partner/stakeholder engagement experience. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of population and public health in BC, including public health core functions, and experience with project management, policy development, and evaluation.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the leadership practices of the Fraser Health Leadership Framework, including Clear, Caring, and Courageous, and create the conditions for people to succeed. They will also possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to critically analyze and synthesize complex evidence-based information.
