The Innovation and eHealth Branch of the New Brunswick Health Department is dedicated to the integration of technology and innovation within the health system to enhance performance and quality of care for all residents.
The Department of Health, in collaboration with Regional Health Authorities, is undertaking a significant initiative to modernize primary care operations by updating Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems across various healthcare settings. The goal is to transition from paper-based records to a comprehensive EMR system, facilitating improved patient care models.
Services RequiredThe branch is in search of a Technical/Solution Architect to collaborate with the Innovation and eHealth Enterprise Architecture team, focusing on the Provincial EMR Program and the EMR Modernization initiative.
The Technical/Solution Architect will be tasked with:
- Developing technical blueprints for health department initiatives.
- Creating technical requirements, standards, and guiding principles for health solutions.
- Ensuring alignment with New Brunswick's Innovation and eHealth strategy.
- Considering managed and cloud services as preferred options in solutions.
- Assisting in the development of RFPs to support EMR initiatives and planning for implementation.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Computer Science or Information Technology is preferred, though equivalent experience may be acceptable.
- At least fifteen years of experience in Information Management/Information Technology.
- A minimum of five years of experience as a lead Technical/Solution Architect on medium to large healthcare system development or COTS implementation projects within the last decade.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
