Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Gameplay/UI Developer to join our team at Electronic Arts. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing data-driven gameplay and UI systems using Python, C++, and ActionScript 3.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop new Sim behaviors, including interactions with the world, other Sims, and objects.
  • Integrate real-life creative elements into a simulation game such as socialization, careers, and weather.
  • Collaborate with designers, producers, artists, and engineers to enhance the data-driven framework for bringing designs to life.
  • Develop technical design documents outlining software requirements.
  • Generate unique content for a game catering to a diverse range of simulation player behaviors.
  • Write code with a focus on performance and memory efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable, and efficient code.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize technical requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a hands-on development role.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency through projects developed in C++ or Python.
  • Experience with Windows platform and development tools like Visual Studio or similar IDEs.
  • Experience in optimizing existing game code for better performance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience managing a major system.
  • Demonstrated experience in working on large data-driven games or applications.
  • Experience in developing for large-scale live products.
  • Experience using static and performance analysis tools, automated testing, unit testing, and configuration management processes.
  • Knowledge of UI technologies such as Scaleform, ActionScript 3, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or familiarity with Flash.
